Rich Kube Named as Vice President of Design Engineering Division to Lead CDE

Effective today, Rich Kube will provide oversight for the programs of Cape Design Engineering (CDE) as Vice President of 8-koi’s Design Engineering Division and member of the company’s leadership team. CDE has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of 8-koi since March 2019.

An Air Force Veteran and lifelong Florida resident, Kube brings decades of experience in complex engineering and compliant operations for the government contracting industry to include aviation and aerospace. He is the former Director of Engineering and Senior Program Manager at Craig Technologies, and he supported NASA Shuttle systems engineering and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) with United Space Alliance in Cape Canaveral for over a decade.

“Rich Kube is an inspirational leader and strategic thinker who will help us to capture and fulfill advanced engineering contracts as 8-koi and CDE continue to mature in the marketplace,” says company President Inga Young. “We are looking forward to incorporating Rich’s knowledge of quality standards and his experience successfully leading multi-disciplinary project teams so we can further improve our processes and take on work with a larger scope.”

As VP of Design Engineering, Kube will be supervising a team of eleven engineers, technicians, and administrative support personnel to meet customer requirements from design to delivery. The company’s project portfolio includes Space Launch Complex (SLC) systems and lab facilities for NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, airfield and submarine facilities for the US Navy in Jacksonville and Port Canaveral, and high-tech learning environments for Florida’s public institutions of higher education.

Kube earned a master’s degree in aeronautical science with specialization in aerospace/aviation management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, graduated from the Boeing Leadership Institute in St. Louis, Missouri, is a recipient of numerous technical achievement awards, and volunteers his time to support missionary work building schools and hospitals with his church.
